As part of the exhibition WHEN A SILENT SONG RISES, we look back at our panel discussion with Melody Howse, Astan Meyer, Beverly Renekouzou, Exocé Kasongo and Elihu Ashong. Building up on the title of the exhibition, the participating panelists reflected on their individual relationship towards the ‚silent songs’ of our collective past and presence. Motion and Music having been core themes of this project, we investigated collective performances as a transformative experience. The show at ARTCO Gallery Berlin was an interdisciplinary demonstration of ‚contemporary ancestry‘ and an opportunity to witness the unfolding of a transformative experience.
